Pork Chops with Apricot Glaze

6 1-inch
pork center loin chops
Salt and
pepper
Apricot glaze
1 tablespoon butter
1
tablespoon safflower oil
1 each
onion finely chopped
1/4 cup
apricot nectar
1/4 cup
apricot jam
2
tablespoon brown sugar
1/2
teaspoon ground allspice
Pinch
ground ginger
Season
pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides, set aside. Heat the
butter and oil in a frying pan. Add the onion and cook over low heat
until onion is transparent. Add the rest of glaze ingredients and cook
over low heat until well blended and fairly liquid.
Place on grill, cooking to desired doneness, basting frequently with
glaze.
